The McNay Art Museum

Significant cultural addition to San Antonio. Using renowned, Parisian architect Jean Paul Viegier and Whiting-Turner Construction Company. Main features include retail gift shop and auditorium.

What we did

Museum store includes high gloss, opaque finishes and radius glass on curved sales counters and displays. Museum displays include hidden access panels with remote control, pneumatic openings. All four walls and the ceiling of the auditorium are constructed from a single European pear flitch that was bookmatched and endmatched for uniform appearance throughout the entire space. Sliding screen covers and matching podium.

What we used

Automotive finish and bent glass for store display cases. Front lobby welcome desk, european pear. Seamless display cases have hydraulic, remote controlled opening doors. European pear from one tree, sequence matched european pear. All four walls and ceiling were cut from one flitch. Entire auditorium covered in one matching sequence.
