This project was part of a major renovation in the heart of the Texas A&M University main campus, consisting of several dining areas, student activity centers, art galleries, a hotel and the Board of Regents offices.
What we did
A back-painted glass interactive touch screen kiosk for the Former Students Association, wood wall paneling in the ballroom lobby, an information desk, the Forsyth Gallery reception desk, wood trim throughout, marker board/cork board wall displays, stair risers and glass display cases.
What we used
Sequence matched, English Brown Oak was used for the 280′ long lobby wall paneling and integrated entrance doors. A fungus in the wood creates the rich, pure, brown color and the figure in the grain adds great depth and interest to the natural pattern of the wood. The panels were finished with clear, UV cured epoxy coating. White solid surface was used on the eleven sets of stair risers throughout the building for a seamless, permanent finish. Steamed eucalyptus veneer with a clear finish encased the lighted glass display and reception desk in the Board of Regents Office. The various veneers chosen for this project created a remarkable, deep and luxurious final product.
