Project Description

Austin, TX

We worked with American Constructors to make this auditorium a beautiful place where all of Austin ISD can come and enjoy the arts. There are no straight walls in this building which was a new challenge for us but one we confidently accepted. In the auditorium, the two-tiered balconies are made of curved walnut panels and the radius wall panels are maple with horizontal maple accent reveal bands. Coordinating bands of walnut at varying degrees of width create a fluid, visually appealing and cohesive unit. The lobby features 26,000′ of vertically oriented douglas Fir on a 300′ long curved wall.
